Bhopal: A retired SAF head constable from Bhopal’s Bajaria area succumbed to injuries late Thursday night, 14 days after being stabbed by his son-in-law. The incident occurred on November 10th, following a domestic dispute involving the constable’s daughter.
According to TI Shilpa Kaurav, the victim, Naseer Hussain (70), son of Mirza Mohammad Hussain and a resident of Kachi Sarai, had retired from the SAF. His daughter had been married for four years, during which she was repeatedly harassed and assaulted by her husband, Parvez Khan. Distressed by the abuse, she had returned to her parents’ home.
On November 10, Parvez arrived at the house to take his wife back. A heated argument broke out, during which he allegedly stabbed Naseer in the stomach. Initially, police registered a case of attempted murder and arrested the accused. He was later sent to jail.
Naseer was admitted to the hospital in critical condition but died during treatment nearly two weeks later. Following his death, the charge has been upgraded to murder. Police have conducted the post-mortem and handed over the body to the family.
