- Focus on faith and community
Bhopal: The four-day Aalmi Tablighi Ijtema commenced today after the Fajr (pre-dawn) prayers at Ghassipura, Eintkhedi. Opening the major global congregation, Maulana Haroon Bhiwandi delivered the inaugural sermon, emphasizing that the Prophet Muhammad’s primary goal was the teaching of Deen (the Islamic way of life). He stressed the importance of having good faith in Allah, trusting in His unseen help, and adopting the Prophet’s Sunnah (traditions) in daily life. The Maulana highlighted that Namaz (prayer) is the spiritual means of invoking divine help, urging attendees to perform it with the intention of drawing Allah’s mercy.
= Key sermons and mass nuptials
Later in the day, a special Juma (Friday) prayer was offered, drawing participation from millions. Following the Asr (afternoon) prayer, Maulana Farooq Sahab addressed the gathering, stating that true success lies in preparation for the Aakhirat (the afterlife). He encouraged the establishment of Quran circles in homes, stating they would illuminate a house like stars in the sky. A notable event was the arrangement of 300 Nikahs (marriages). Before the ceremonies, Maulana Yusuf Sahab guided the grooms on fulfilling their responsibilities and living their new lives according to Islamic principles, emphasizing that marriage is an amanat (trust).
= Innovative emergency services deployed
To ensure the safety and health of the massive gathering, special provisions have been made for emergency services. The arrangements include the deployment of Bike Ambulances and specialized three-wheeler ambulances. The purpose of these smaller, faster vehicles is to navigate crowded and narrow pathways quickly, ensuring that patients can be extracted immediately and transported to hospitals during any medical emergency. Meanwhile, the arrival of Jamaats (groups) from across India and abroad continued late into the night, facilitated by widespread community transport services offering free rides to the Ijtima ground.
