Bhopal, : Bhopal Police have launched a dedicated campaign to track down anti-social elements and execute pending warrants ahead of the upcoming New Year festivities. This targeted effort has resulted in the successful capture of three major absconders, including a Rs 5,000 bounty criminal.
Habibganj Police nab 15-year burglary fugitive
The Habibganj Police successfully executed a warrant against Rajesh Chauhan alias Rajju (45), who had been evading arrest for 15 years in connection with three separate burglary cases (nakabjani) dating back to 1997 and 1998. Acting on intelligence, the police team tracked the long-absconding criminal down to Shivtala in Raisen district.
= Rs 5,000 bounty criminal arrested from Nagpur
In another major success, Habibganj police arrested Rs 5,000 bounty criminal Suraj Rajput alias Chunna (25) in a specialized operation launched in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Rajput was wanted by Habibganj Police for a criminal intimidation and assault case from July 2024. During interrogation, he confessed to being involved in a separate robbery case and was also found to be an absconder in two standing warrants from the Shahpura Police Station.
= Khajuri Sadak arrests 10-year theft absconder
Meanwhile, the Khajuri Sadak Police arrested Pradeep Rai (33), a permanent absconder in a 2015 theft case, who had successfully evaded authorities for 10 years. Rai was traced to the Nishatpura area after police determined the fugitive, who often changed residences, was working as an auto driver. All three arrested individuals have been presented before the court.
