PM hails NDA win in Bihar, says ‘jungle raj’ will not return’

New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Prime Minister narendra Modi hailed the victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar elections, saying ‘jungle raj’ will not return to the state and it (the state) will move ahead on the path of progress and development.

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters here on Friday evening, PM Modi said ”good governance has won, development has won and it is the pro-people spirit which has won.”

He expressed gratitude to the people of the state for giving the NDA a historic victory in the assembly polls, which, he said, has given renewed strength to serve the people of the state.

The Prime Minister called the victory, not just a win for the NDA, but a triumph for democracy, which has bolstered public confidence in the Election Commission.

He said this is the same Bihar that was once plagued by Maoist insurgency, where voting in Naxal- affected areas often concluded as early as 3 PM. However, in this election, people turned out to vote with remarkable enthusiasm, he added.

The Prime Minister said that in the times to come, the NDA will do even more for the progress of the people of Bihar, developing the state’s infrastructure and promoting the state’s culture.

“We will ensure that the state’s youth and women power get many opportunities to lead a life of prosperity,” he said.

‘‘Today’s victory is a new beginning, the trust shown by the people of Bihar has put more responsibility on our shoulders, and I want to assure that in the coming five years the state will progress with more pace. If the people are re-electing the BJP-led NDA government, it signifies the establishment of a pro-people, pro-governance and pro-development agenda,” he said and added that this is something that represents a new foundation in the country’s politics.

The PM also highlighted that the government is working towards including Chhath in UNESCO’s heritage list, with an objective to promoting global and national recognition of this culture and foster a deeper connection with across the globe.

”Now new businesses will be set up in Bihar, work will be done so that the youth get employment in the state. There will be new investments in the state which will generate new jobs,” he added.

Taking a dig at the opposition, the PM said that today’s result is a befitting reply to those who said Bihar does not want airports, expressways, and such fast development.

He accused the Mahagathbandhan of appeasement and divisive politics, and also slammed the Congress, alleging that foundation of its political approach is rooted in negativity.

He accused the Congress of focusing on raising objectionable slogans, disrupting parliamentary proceedings, attacking key institutions, casting doubt on electronic voting machines (EVMs), maligning the Election Commission and promoting division along lines of caste and religion.

”Congress lacks a constructive or forward-looking vision for the nation,” he added.

PM Modi further said that the nation is now voting for genuine social justice, a vision where every family is granted opportunity, respect, and equality.

He asserted that now there is no room for appeasement and its era has been replaced by a focus on universal satisfaction (santushtikaran). “The people of India now only want development,” the PM said.
