Bhopal: The Indian National Congress has expressed deep condolences to the families of the 13 innocent citizens who lost their lives in the horrific terrorist attack that took place in the shadow of the Red Fort, Delhi. The party’s thoughts and prayers are with the injured and the bereaved families.
Forty-eight hours after the explosions shook the national capital, the Union Cabinet finally admitted what many already knew it was indeed a terrorist attack. For three days, confusion and speculation prevailed as the government delayed official confirmation. Congress leaders questioned why it took so long to acknowledge the attack and why the government once again failed to prevent a major terror incident in the heart of the country.
Reports suggest nearly 2,900 kilograms of explosives were used, highlighting serious intelligence lapses. Referring to past attacks from Pathankot and Uri to Pahalgam Congress demanded accountability from Home Minister Amit Shah for repeated security failures.
The party urged the government to convene an all-party meeting and a special Parliament session to discuss the growing internal security crisis. It also called for a unified national approach, stronger coordination with state governments, and enhanced protection for citizens and tourists across India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
