Kerala Fest to bring the spirit of ‘God’s Own Country’ to ‘City of Lakes’

  • Four-day cultural extravaganza by UMA from Nov 13

Bhopal: The United Malayali Association (UMA), Bhopal, has announced the Second Edition of Kerala Fest – 2025, a four-day celebration of Kerala’s rich art, culture, cuisine, and traditions. The event will be held at Bittan Market Ground from November 13, showcasing the vibrant heritage of “God’s Own Country” in the heart of Madhya Pradesh.

The festival will be inaugurated by Governor Mangubhai Patel, in the presence of eminent dignitaries, including Speaker Narendra Tomar, MP Alok Sharma, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, and SBI Chief General Manager Pravash Kumar Subudhi. Cultural performances will begin each evening at 6:30 p.m., presenting a colorful blend of traditional art forms from both Kerala and Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking at a press conference, OD Joseph, President of UMA, said, “Kerala Fest is more than a cultural event — it’s a celebration of unity, compassion, and shared heritage. It embodies the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, connecting Kerala and Madhya Pradesh on one platform.”

Founded in the aftermath of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, UMA has served the community for over four decades, evolving from a humanitarian initiative into a strong social and cultural organization.

2025 edition promises even greater vibrancy

Following the grand success of Kerala Fest 2024, which marked UMA’s 40th anniversary, the 2025 edition promises even greater vibrancy — featuring Thiruvathira, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Kerala cuisine stalls, handicraft exhibitions, and inter-state cultural exchange programs.

With nearly 60,000 Malayalis living in Madhya Pradesh, the festival continues to strengthen the enduring bond of goodwill between the two states.
