Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Jeetu Patwari, while addressing media representatives on Tuesday, strongly criticised the current political environment in the country, the functioning of the state government, and outlined the Congress party’s forthcoming organisational strategy.

Patwari expressed deep concern over the Delhi blast incident, stating that it was unfortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Bhutan shortly after the incident instead of staying in the country to review the situation. He described this as “a serious example of insensitivity.” He further urged the Central Government, armed forces, intelligence agencies and Delhi Police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure strict punishment for the perpetrators. He also paid tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives in the incident.

Speaking on the issue of the recent Sarpanch Conference, Patwari condemned Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s remarks towards village secretaries and employment assistants, terming them “insulting and unacceptable.” He said that such behaviour was an attack on the spirit of Gram Swaraj. He demanded that the Chief Minister offer a public apology. Patwari added that rather than respecting grassroots public representatives, the ruling leadership had resorted to belittling those who contribute to rural development.

On the Kerwa Dam controversy, the Congress leader launched a sharp attack on the state government, alleging widespread corruption. He said the current administration is operating like “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves,” where transparency has disappeared.

Discussing the ongoing Congress NavSrijan Training Programme, Patwari said that serious introspection over organisational vision and strategy has taken place. Further training sessions will be conducted at division and block levels to strengthen the party structure. He emphasised that despite the BJP’s organisational expansion, public resentment against the ruling party is clearly visible. Patwari asserted that Congress is preparing with unity for Mission 2028 and will return to power in Madhya Pradesh.

On Bihar election exit polls, he advised patience, stating that the truth will be known in due course. He reiterated that Congress remains committed to safeguarding constitutional values and public rights.
