HM Shah visits site of car explosion, also visits injured at LNJP

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday night visited the site of the car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station, along with top police officials, including the Commissioner and senior special cell officers. He also visited the injured at the LNJP hospital.
The teams of multiple agencies, including the National Investigation Agency, National Security Guard, Forensic Crime Laboratory and others, were present on the spot to probe the matter.
The explosion took place at around 7 pm, when a blast occurred in a car at the Netaji Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort.
The investigation has been initiated by the agencies concerned, and will explore all the possible angles.
The Home Minister visited the LNJP hospital to check on the injured.
The explosion that took place in the car, ripped through the vehicle, claiming several lives, while leaving some nearby pedestrians injured, who were rushed to the LNJP hospital.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed condolences to the bereaved families and wished for speedy recovery for the inhured.
She added that the affected are being provided with all possible assistance.
CM has appealed to the citizens to maintain calm and be cautious regarding any misinformation in this regard. Gupta along with some cabinet ministers also headed for the LNJP to meet the injured.
