Stalin, TN leaders condemn Delhi car blast

Chennai, Nov 10 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and leaders of various political parties, including main Opposition AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami tonight condemned the car blast in New Delhi that has claimed nearly eight lives and left several injured.

In a post on X, Mr Stalin said he was shocked and deeply pained over the lost of several innocent lives and that visuals from the scene are truly heartbreaking.

He also wished those injured a speedy recovery.

“Shocked and deeply pained by the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort that has taken several innocent lives. Visuals from the site are truly heartbreaking”, he wrote.

“My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and my thoughts are with those battling injuries”, he said.

“Wishing them strength and a swift recovery”, he added.

Mr Palaniswami said “deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, and prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured.”

“At the same time, I commend the swift and decisive action of our security forces in Faridabad. The recovery of nearly 300 kg of explosives and several AK-47 rifles underscores the grave threats our nation continues to face”, he said in the X post.

“”Given the seriousness of the situation, I urge the Tamil Nadu Government and Police to remain on the highest alert, enhance vigilance, and implement foolproof security measures across the State to ensure the safety and security of the general public”, Mr Palaniswami added.

“Special attention and heightened precaution should also be exercised in coastal regions, which require continuous monitoring and strengthened surveillance”, he said.

Leaders of other political parties, including the allies of the ruling DMK also condemned the blasts and offered their deepest condolences to the deceased and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
