All possible efforts underway to curb pollution issues left out by AAP: Sirsa

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Monday said the government was making continuous efforts to address pollution-related issues, which he alleged, were a legacy of the previous AAP government.

The minister accused the former AAP regime of ruining the situation and not doing enoug to check pollution in the national Capital.

Sirsa said the air quality this year is better than previous years, listing out steps taken by the present BJP government. The government has installed new smog guns in highrise buildings in the Capital, replaced polluting buses with new E-buses and taken many preventive measures to improve the ambient air.

On the other hand, Sirsa accused the AAP of being involved in covering up their shortcomings with false propaganda and politics.

The Minister said the present government is making efforts to remove garbage mountains, stressing that legacy issues of over ten years will take some time to be fixed.

He also accused AAP of raising questions on the air monitoring system, which was put in place by the previous government.

Sirsa also hit out at the previous regime for spending Rs 100 crore on the odd-even scheme, but doing nothing concrete for controlling pollution.

According to the Minister, even the court had mentioned that the previous government did not allow enough funds for the Delhi Pollution Committee.

He said the present government led by CM Rekha Gupta will undertake all possible efforts towards resolving various issues related to pollution.
