New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Jairam Ramesh have jointly asserted that the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) is set to bring a revolutionary change in Bihar, putting an end to what they describe as “two decades of helpless governance.”
Both leaders emphasized the alliance’s unwavering commitment to social justice, economic upliftment, and empowerment of marginalized communities ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
Taking to social media platform X, Kharge conveyed a message of hope and transformation: “The Grand Alliance government will free Bihar from 20 years of helpless governance. Now, migration will stop, the darkness over the future of the youth will lift, every home will brighten their tomorrow with jobs!”
He highlighted the alliance’s focus on inclusive growth, promising to uplift women, farmers, youth, and disadvantaged sections, including Dalits, Mahadalits, tribals, backward classes, and minorities.
Reflecting similar sentiments, Jairam Ramesh outlined the Mahagathbandhan’s comprehensive 20-point guarantee aimed at addressing Bihar’s pressing socio-economic challenges. “This time, a Mahagathbandhan government is certain in Bihar,” he stated, underscoring the coalition’s bold vision for the state.
Key promises include one government job per family, Rs 2,500 monthly financial assistance for women, free electricity up to 200 units, subsidized gas cylinders at Rs 500, free bus services for women, Rs 30,000 monthly salary for Jivika Didis (community health workers), pension schemes for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, free treatment facilities up to Rs 25 lakh, and enhanced reservations for EBC/EWS, SC, and ST communities.
Ramesh emphasized, “The Mahagathbandhan government will free Bihar from 20 years of helpless governance,” reiterating the alliance’s promise to bring justice and prosperity to every corner of the state.
As Bihar prepares for the second phase of Assembly elections on November 11, the Mahagathbandhan’s ambitious manifesto seeks to resonate with voters weary of economic stagnation, unemployment, and mass migration. The coalition’s promise of inclusive development and social justice aims to paint a new narrative of hope and empowerment for Bihar’s diverse population.
Bihar is witnessing a two-phase polling process, with the first phase held on November 6, the second phase scheduled for November 11, and the results set to be announced on November 14.
