New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) has officially declared a resounding success in its participation in the nationwide Special Campaign 5.0 for Swachhata and Disposal of Pending Matters, which ran from October 2- 31, 2025.
Characterized by a highly focused and efficient month-long push, the Ministry fully achieved all its set targets, demonstrating a firm commitment to both physical cleanliness and digital transformation in governance.
The Special Campaign 5.0, spearheaded by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), was a major government initiative designed to embed the spirit of Swachhata (cleanliness) and minimize backlogs across all departments.
MoPA embraced this campaign as a vital chance to reinforce its dedication to good governance and sustainability. The preparatory phase (September 15th-30th) was used for meticulous groundwork, identifying every pending file, outdated record, and piece of e-waste, which paved the way for the decisive clean-up in October.
The sustained efforts of MoPA officials led to several significant, measurable outcomes:
Complete Clearance: A 100 percent clearance rate was achieved for all pending references and files.
Physical Cleanliness: Comprehensive cleanliness drives were successfully completed across all office sections.
Responsible Disposal: All obsolete materials and e-waste were fully disposed of in strict compliance with environmental standards.
Crucially, the campaign served as a catalyst for MoPA’s transition toward a paperless administration. The Ministry significantly increased its reliance on digital platforms, including e-Office, e-HRMS, Consultative Committee Management System, and the innovative National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA).
A senior MoPA official emphasized the long-term impact: “The complete clearance of all pending matters and the seamless transition toward a more paperless environment underscores our dedication to a ‘Swachh, Smart, and Citizen-Centric Administration.’ By integrating digitization and meticulous record management, we are fortifying the foundation of good governance for the long term.”
The official further highlighted the potential of the NeVA platform, noting its ability to usher in greater transparency and sustainability in state legislatures, promising substantial annual savings and the protection of countless trees.
MoPA ensured wide public awareness by maintaining an active social media presence throughout the campaign, utilizing hashtags such as #SpecialCampaign5.0 and #SHS2025.
The Ministry views the campaign’s completion not as an end, but as a milestone in its ongoing journey toward accountability and efficiency, committing to sustain these higher standards of cleanliness, digitalization, and effective record management year-round.
