Bhopal: A Bhopal court, presided over by the 12th Additional Sessions Judge Jayant Sharma, delivered a stringent verdict on Thursday, sentencing Sunil Malviya and Devendra Malviya to double life imprisonment for the brutal murder of Sunil’s wife and her lover.
The court convicted the duo under Section 302/34 of the IPC (two counts), imposing a life term for each murder along with a fine of Rs 1,000. Sunil Malviya received an additional one-year rigorous imprisonment under the Arms Act.
The crime dates back to July 18, 2022, when the accused ambushed the victims, who were traveling on a motorcycle with a five-year-old child, near Ashoka Garden. The assailants, armed with a knife and spade handles, chased the couple and attacked them when the bike slowed down, inflicting fatal injuries. The complainant and locals apprehended Sunil Malviya at the scene.
