Patna, Nov 6 (UNI) Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, accusing the BJP of hypocrisy over its campaign rhetoric.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s recent comments about “katta” (guns) during election speeches, Rabri Devi said it was ironic coming from the BJP, which she alleged was responsible for incidents of violence.
“Narendra Modi ji makes statements on ‘katta’ (guns), but it is the people of his party who fire bullets. They abduct, shoot, and kill people. Modi ji doesn’t remember all that,” Rabri said while speaking to reporters in Patna.
As the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections got underway today, several prominent RJD leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav, Misa Bharti, and Rabri Devi, stepped out early to cast their votes and urged citizens to do the same.
RJD MP Misa Bharti, after casting her vote, appealed to people to exercise their franchise responsibly and keep the state’s future in mind. “I just want to say that everyone should cast their votes keeping the future of children in mind,” she said.
Calling on women and youth to come out in large numbers, Misa added that the public had the power to bring about meaningful change. “I appeal to women, youth, and everyone to come out of their houses and cast their votes. The public will bring about a change,” she said before heading to the polling booth.
Expressing optimism about the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan’s chances, Misa Bharti said she was confident of victory. “Don’t think about the numbers—it could cross 150, 160, or even 200. I’m not concerned about the numbers, but we are going to form the government for sure because the youth want this and they are concerned about their future,” she added.
