New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) Delhi Government’s Minister for Cooperation, Ravinder Indraj Singh has vowed to develop the national capital’s cooperative institutions into such centers of excellence that they become model for the entire nation.
On Tuesday, the minister made these remarks while inaugurating an ambulance service at Zakir Bagh, New Friends Colony, which was donated by Jamia Cooperative Bank.
The minister asserted that the state government will focus its efforts on bolstering the cooperative banking and allied cooperative sectors in the city to ensure the development of a Viksit (Developed) Delhi.
Calling the move a vital first step for enhancing transparency in departmental functioning, opening new bank branches, providing easy financial assistance, and implementing self-reliance-oriented schemes, he said, with this, Delhi’s cooperative institutions will be made models for the entire country.
Citing the success of India’s pioneering cooperative organisations, Singh said, “India’s two leading cooperatives, Amul and IFFCO, have made the nation proud by securing the 1st and 2nd ranks globally among all cooperative institutions.”
He added that to ensure Delhi follows suit, comprehensive reforms and initiatives are being undertaken in the national capital for the first time to build a Developed India and Developed Delhi.
The event was organized as part of a series of programs being held in Delhi to commemorate the ‘International Year of Cooperatives 2025’.
