Delhi Assembly Speaker hails Nanak’s divine message on Gurupurab

New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) On the occasion of Gurupurab, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta today hailed the guiding principles outlined by Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism.

He praised the tenet, ‘Naam Japna (focus on god), Kirat Karni (living honestly), and Vand Chakna (sharing with others)’, also called the fundamental pillars of Sikhism, for continuing to illuminate the path of righteousness and humanity even today.

Gupta added that Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings transcend time and religion, reminding us to live a life rooted in truth, humility, and service. The remarks were made by the Speaker during his visit to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib today.

The Delhi Assembly Speaker also sought blessings and participated in the prayers, expressing deep reverence for the eternal teachings of Guru Nanak Dev that continue to guide humanity towards compassion, equality, and selfless service.

During his visit, Gupta also visited an exhibition organized by the Gurudwara dedicated to the life and legacy of the first Sikh Guru. Reflecting on his visit, he said, “Bowing down at the holy Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was a deeply spiritual experience. The peace and purity of this sacred place inspire us to dedicate ourselves to the welfare of society and the nation.”

He urged the citizens to pledge to uphold the ideals of Sikhism, founded by Guru Nanak Dev ji, which promotes unity, compassion, and brotherhood, calling the teachings to be all the more “relevant in the present times.”

Gupta further added that every individual, irrespective of faith or background, can draw strength and direction from Guru Nanak’s timeless wisdom, which continues to promote harmony and uplift humanity across generations.
