Jaiswal’s 156 guides Mumbai to draw against Rajasthan

Bengaluru, Nov 4 (UNI) Yashasvi Jaiswal’s brilliant 156 guided Mumbai to 269 for 3 in their second innings against Rajasthan in Jaipur, highlighting a round of stellar performances in the latest Ranji Trophy matches.

Despite conceding the first-innings lead, Jaiswal’s knock ensured Mumbai secured a hard-fought draw, with Musheer Khan contributing 63.

In other results, Haryana claimed their third consecutive win by defeating Gujarat by four wickets in Ahmedabad. Chasing 62, Parth Vats and Yashvardhan Dalal steadied the innings after early setbacks, while Nikhil Kashyap took four wickets for Gujarat.

Karnataka dominated Kerala by an innings and 164 runs, powered by Mohsin Khan’s exceptional off-spin. The 22-year-old, in his third first-class game, recorded figures of 6 for 29, securing his maiden five-wicket haul as Kerala were bowled out for 79 in their second innings.

Uttarakhand triumphed over Services by 17 runs in Delhi. Mayank Mishra’s five-wicket haul, supported by Jagadeesha Suchith and Avneesh Sudha, restricted Services to 105 in pursuit of 123. Arjun Sharma top-scored with 23.

Hyderabad chased down a challenging 344-run target to beat Himachal Pradesh by four wickets, anchored by Abhirath Reddy’s unbeaten 175 and key partnerships with Rahul Radesh (66) and other top-order batters.

Andhra completed an innings-and-50-runs win over Odisha, with Saurabh Kumar and Tripurana Vijay sharing six wickets in the second innings. Gourav Choudhury (80) and Sandeep Pattnaik (63) were the only notable contributors for Odisha.

Jharkhand secured an innings-and-196-runs victory against Nagaland, thanks to Anukul Roy’s five-wicket haul and Manishi’s four wickets, as Nagaland were bowled out for 160.

Other notable performances in drawn matches included Delhi’s Arpit Rana (170*) and Sanat Sangwan (122*), Tripura’s Hanuma Vihari (141) and Manisankar Murasingh (102*), and Chhattisgarh’s Amandeep Khare (156). Tamil Nadu’s Baba Indrajith (77*) helped avert defeat against Vidarbha after being forced to follow on.

Bowling highlights saw Adarsh Singh’s six-wicket haul help Railways take a first-innings lead over Assam, while Madhya Pradesh’s Kumar Kartikeya, Aryan Pandey, and Arshad Khan shared seven wickets against Chandigarh.
