BJP slams govt over Erragadda cemetery issue, urges voters to bring change from Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad, Nov 4 (UNI) Telangana BJP State President N Ramchandra Rao on Tuesday came down heavily on the State government for permitting the construction of a private cemetery in the middle of a residential colony in Erragadda, calling it an “unwise and inhumane decision.”
Speaking at a meeting held at the Kalpataruvu Residency Club House, Multipurpose Hall in Erragadda division, Ramchandra Rao accused the government of “misusing public emotions” during the election period. He also termed it a serious lapse to grant such permissions without verifying the status of nearby military lands.
The BJP leader said that the foundations for Hyderabad’s development were laid by the NDA government under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, with the support of then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. “Landmark projects like Gachibowli Stadium and Cyber City are products of that vision. It’s unfair for the present governments to claim credit for them,” he remarked.
Highlighting the civic issues plaguing Erragadda and nearby areas, Ramchandra Rao said several colonies and slums continue to suffer from poor drainage systems, damaged roads, missing manhole covers, and inadequate street lighting.
“People are facing grave health risks due to flooding and foul smells during rains, yet municipal officials and local representatives remain indifferent,” he said.
He also expressed concern over the violation of noise regulations, pointing out that loud music and DJ programmes continue past 9:30 p.m. in some areas. He urged the police and public representatives to ensure that such rules are implemented strictly.
Criticising both the Congress and BRS for failing to resolve public issues despite being in power, Ramchandra Rao appealed to voters to give the BJP an opportunity.
“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has witnessed 12 years of corruption-free and transparent governance. During the UPA regime, the nation saw scams like 2G, 3G and the helicopter deal. The people now deserve honest governance,” he said.
Endorsing Jubilee Hills BJP candidate Deepak Reddy, the State BJP chief described him as a well-experienced leader deeply connected with the people and responsive to their concerns.
“Your vote is more powerful than a bullet. Vote with purpose, increase voter turnout, and strengthen democracy,” Ramchandra Rao said, urging the public to initiate political change starting from Jubilee Hills.
