Itarsi set to boost rail connectivity with four special services

Bhopal: The Railway has announced the operation of four vital special trains via the Itarsi station (Bhopal Division) to manage anticipated passenger rush and cater to travel demand. This move is aimed at significantly improving convenience for travelers heading to major destinations across the country, particularly to the western and southern regions.

1. Mumbai and Back: Twin Trips

Two dedicated one-trip services, Train Nos. 05265 and 05267, will run from Barauni to Bandra Terminus (Mumbai) on November 11 and 12, 2025, respectively. Both depart Barauni at 12:00 PM and will stop at Itarsi at 9:05 AM the following day. These services offer a mix of AC, Sleeper, and General coaches, easing travel to major cities like Patna, Jabalpur, and Valsad.

2. Ernakulam: Southward Link

The Barauni-Ernakulam Junction Special (Train No. 05263) will operate two trips on November 11 and 12, 2025. Departing Barauni at 8:30 PM, this train is scheduled to arrive at Itarsi at 2:20 PM the next afternoon. With stops including Nagpur, Vijayawada, and Coimbatore, this train provides essential connectivity to Kerala, utilizing an ample supply of Sleeper and General coaches.

3. Bengaluru Bound: Express Service

The Muzaffarpur Junction–SMVT Bengaluru Special (Train No. 05545) also runs for two trips on November 11 and 12, 2025. It will arrive at Itarsi at 2:15 PM the next day. This important service connects passengers from the north to the tech hub of Bengaluru, with key halts at Jabalpur and Nagpur along its route.

4. Booking and Information

Senior DCM Saurabh Kataria confirmed that the special trains are designed to clear the extra passenger load. Travelers are advised to check detailed stop information and schedules via railway station inquiry counters, Rail Madad 139, or online platforms before commencing their journey.
