Kejriwal accuses BJP of worsening Delhi’s condition in 6 months

New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal today alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has severely deteriorated the condition of Delhi within just six months of being in power.

Addressing a Diwali Milan celebration event organised by the AAP’s women’s wing at the party headquarters, Kejriwal claimed that the city, which he said the AAP had developed over ten years with quality infrastructure and services, is now facing significant problems.

He stated that roads are broken, garbage is accumulating across the city, and sewers are overflowing. He further alleged that government hospitals are facing a shortage of medicines and that mohalla clinics have been shut down.

On utilities, Kejriwal said that residents, who previously received free electricity, are now getting bills running into thousands of rupees. He also claimed there is a severe water crisis, with many areas receiving dirty water or no supply at all, affecting even prominent localities.

The AAP leader suggested that Delhi residents had voted for the BJP in the recent elections with the expectation that having the same party in the state, at the centre, and in the Lieutenant Governor’s post, would lead to smoother governance. He contended that the outcome has been the opposite.

Kejriwal extended festival greetings on the occasions of Diwali, Dhanteras, Chhath, and Bhai Dooj. He also performed a Dhanteras puja at the party office. The event was attended by Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bharadwaj and the party’s women’s wing president Sarika Chaudhary, along with a large number of women party members.

Reiterating his party’s stance, Kejriwal said that AAP entered politics to serve people, an objective he said they remain committed to regardless of being in power or in the opposition.
