Ishan Kishan’s century bails out Jharkhand in Ranji opener against TN

Chennai, (UNI) A gritty and well-crafted unbeaten century by skipper Ishan Kishan
and half century by Sahul Raj helped Jharkhand come out of a tight situation and post
307 for six at close on the opening
day of the first Elite A Group Ranji Trophy cricket match against Tamil Nadu CDCA-Sri
Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science Ground, in Coimbatore today.
Batting first, Jharkhand lost wickets at regular intervals and were struggling at 157 for six
in 51 overs.
However, southpaw Ishan Kishan did the rescue act scoring his ninth first class century
and in the process added 150 runs in 39 overs for the unbroken seventh wicket with No.8
batsman Sahul Raj (64 batting, 6×4, 2×6) to guide the team to a position of respect.
At close Ishan Kishan was batting on 125 (183 balls, 14×4, 2×6) and would like to
carry forward to help the team post a good total.
Earlier opener Sharandeep Singh scored 48, while the other top order batsmen fell to the
left arm pace of Gurjapneet Singh who bagged three wickets cleaning the top order.
Left arm spinnner D T Chandrasekhar porivded admirable support claiming two wickets.
