Visakhapatnam, (UNI) Australia Women scripted history at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium today by successfully chasing 331 against India Women, setting the highest target ever achieved in ICC WWC World Cup history.
The record-breaking chase was highlighted by explosive batting, 13 sixes, the most ever in a Women’s World Cup match, and a thrilling 661-run match aggregate, the third-highest in Women’s ODI history.
The 331-run chase surpassed the previous highest World Cup chase of 278, also set by Australia against India at Auckland in 2022.
It is the second-highest total successfully chased in Women’s ODIs, behind India’s 369 against Australia in Delhi last month.
Previous high successful chases in Women’s ODIs include Sri Lanka’s 302 against South Africa at Potchefstroom in 2024, Australia’s 289 against New Zealand at North Sydney in 2012, 283 against India at Wankhede in 2023, and 282 against India at New Chandigarh in 2025.
