Sonia Gandhi writes to wife of deceased IPS officer V Puran Kumar, extends support to family

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) In a heartfelt gesture, Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, has penned a condolence letter to Amneet P Kumar, the wife of Senior IPS Officer V Puran Kumar, who tragically took his own life.

The letter, dated October 10, 2025, is a testament to the party’s commitment to social justice and support for the families of dedicated public servants.

Sonia Gandhi’s letter conveys deep sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved family. She writes, “Shri V Puran Kumar’s dedication reminds us that even today, the rulers’ oppression from time immemorial has deprived even the highest officials of social justice. I, along with millions of countrymen, stand with you on this path of justice.”

The Congress leader prayed for the family’s well-being during this challenging time, saying, “I pray that in this difficult situation, God gives you patience, courage, and strength.” This gesture underscores the party’s concern for the welfare of its citizens, particularly those who have served the nation with dedication and integrity.
