Shreya Ghoshal, Badshah and Vishal Dadlani pay tribute to Zubin Garg

Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) In a moving and unforgettable moment on Indian Idol 16, judges Shreya Ghoshal, Badshah and Vishal Dadlani paid a soulful tribute to the late playback singer Zubin Garg, evoking emotions across the stage.

The moment assumed special significance as the performing contestant hailed from Garg’s home state, Assam.

Known for his melodious voice and chartbuster songs in Assamese, Hindi, and Bengali music, Zubin Garg has inspired generations of singers with his versatility and passion. The on-stage tribute was made even more special when contestants, along with Shreya, Badshah, and Vishal, performed an iconic Zubin Garg song ‘Jaane Kya’ from the 2006 film “Pyaar Ke Side Effects”, followed by the emotional song “Mann Bawra.”

This performance not only highlighted the greatness of Zubin’s music, but also demonstrated how deeply his songs still resonate with listeners across the country.

Vishal Dadlani said, “It’s amazing. Assam is one of the most musical places. Zubin was born and raised here, and he is one of the biggest stars there. As an Assamese, losing Zubin is a huge loss, but Zubin was one of the greatest singers of his time. Zubin will always remain in our hearts.”
