Akhilesh Yadav blames BJP for rising gold prices

Lucknow, Oct 1 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav today attacked the BJP government and said that what “people consider a double engine of iron has also become gold from within”.
Taking to X, Akhilesh wrote, “The reason for the unprecedented rise in gold prices under BJP rule is not the increase in demand for gold among the general public, but rather the ‘goldenisation’ of the liquid black money of the highly corrupt BJP members into solid gold.
“The truth is that now a poor person cannot even give a single gold clove to their loved ones as a blessing at a wedding. Forget gold, due to the hoarding of precious metals among BJP members, even silver is now beyond the reach of the poor.”
He said, “Now the BJP propaganda machinery will say, ‘what can the BJP government do? Gold prices are determined by the international market.’ If this is true, then the government should reveal under which economic rules and principles the prices of luxury metals are rising despite the declining prices.”
The SP chief asked, “Doesn’t anyone in the BJP government have drones, binoculars or bulldozers for the gold hoarders? Could it be that what people think is an iron double engine is actually made of gold from within?”
