Flood-Hit Rahegaon: Power restored after 10 days, 102 patients treated by medical team

Nanded (Maha), Sept 30 (UNI) Power supply and medical facilities were restored in Rahegaon village in Nanded taluka after 10 days following heavy rains in the region, officials said today, adding that a State Disaster Response Force team had to wade through flood water to access the village and help the marooned villagers.

The lone bridge connecting Rahegaon was flooded, cutting off the village completely, said local MLA Anandrao Bondharkar. He said sub-divisional officer Dr Sachin Khalilal and revenue officer Sanjay Virkad joined hands to arrange help for the villagers.

“The Tehsildar contacted District Collector Rahul Kardele, SDO Dr Khalilal, SDRF Inspector Prashant Rathod and Taluka Health Officer Dr Praveen Munde. They took the action forward,” said Bondharkar.

The medical team reached the village and treated 102 patients. The medical facilities were provided by Dr Vivek Padmane and Dr Shaikh Hassan. Shaikh Mumtaz, Shailesh Waghmare and Balu Ghodjakar were among those who successfully brought a semblance of normalcy in the village.

Villagers expressed satisfaction over the restoration of electricity and the provision of medical treatment.
