New Delhi, Sept 24 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today inaugurated around 80 projects related to various public services, worth over Rs 760 crore, for 50 villages in Delhi’s rural belt.

She stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always says that when the villages develop, the entire country develops.

Aimed at speeding up development of Delhi’s villages, these projects are being implemented under the Delhi Gramoday Abhiyan.

The CM dedicated these initiatives to the public in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena at Outer Delhi’s Pooth Khurd village.

Gupta said that the simultaneous launch of numerous schemes shows how committed the Delhi government is to the villages.

She also mentioned that the government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore to the Rural Development Board formed to ensure that development projects across villages do not stall or face any interruption.

According to the CM, with the beginning of these services, the development of the national capital’s villages will gain speed, which will not only lead to infrastructural growth but also establish harmony between cultural heritage, traditions, and modern advancements.

Gupta added that by following the path of unprecedented development witnessed in rural areas under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the Delhi government is also moving forward with a commitment to empower the rural belt with modern facilities.

Outer Delhi MP Yogendra Chandolia, Delhi Cabinet Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh, and Chairman of the Village Development Board Rajkumar Chauhan, among others, were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the CM also unveiled a new sports centre at CM Shri School in Hiran Kudna village, Outer Delhi, and dedicated the facility to the students.

This was part of the ongoing service fortnight, which began on September 17 on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday and will continue till October 2.

According to the CM, the advanced sports facility and the track will ensure better sporting opportunities for children in nearby areas, helping nurture their talent and enabling them to create an identity at national and international levels.

This initiative will encourage students to pursue sports and help provide opportunities to achieve new heights in the field.

Gupta said her government is working in a mission mode to timely complete public welfare projects related to roads, schools, transportation, and others.

In a related development, LG Saxena said that under DDA’s Delhi Gramoday Abhiyan, these development works will provide new direction and momentum to infrastructural development across the national capital’s villages.

So far, several works have either been completed or are on the verge of completion under this initiative, he added.

The aim of the initiative is to provide amenities to the villages as per their requirements, Saxena said.
