Raj HC issues notice to UDH Secretary & five Power Cos over appointment of engineers

Jaipur, (UNI) The Rajasthan High Court has ordered for issuance of notices to the state Urban Development Secretary and the Managing Directors of five power supply companies in the matter of appointment of engineers in the UDH department.

A division bench comprising Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma and Justice Sanjith Purohit ordered to issue notices on Monday in a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by People Against Corruption, against the appointment of 20-23 engineers of power companies into the state urban development department.

The petitioners pleaded before the court that the state government service rules did not allow appointment of employees from a state-owned corporation or board into the state government or from a corporation to another corporation or board.

However, more than 20 engineers from the five power companies have been appointed in the UDH department against the rules.

This is a sort of attempt of inducting in the government service an employee from the back door, the petitioners submitted before the court.
