Lucknow, Sep 21 (UNI) Two people were killed and six others injured after a speeding SUV collided with an e-rickshaw in the Cantonment area of the state capital Lucknow, police sources said here today.
They said Mohit (23) and Umesh Sahu (26), both residents of Nigohan’s Uttarwan, died in the accident that took place late on Saturday evening. “Mohit got married in February this year and his wife is pregnant,” they said.
The injured, identified as Bhupendra, Ansh, Pramod, Anuj and Sumit Yadav, were taken to the KGMU Trauma Center.
Eyewitnesses said the collision was so severe that the e-rickshaw riders were thrown several feet away and lay writhing in pain on the road. Police and three ambulances arrived at the scene following reports from passersby. All the injured were referred first to the Command Hospital and then to the Trauma Center.
Cantonment Police Station in-charge Gurmeet Kaur said the Thar involved in the accident has been seized. “The driver is absconding. Police are looking for the accused driver.
