Delhi CM inaugurates city’s first large scale bio gas plant, accuses previous regime of delaying project

New Delhi, Sept 20 (UNI) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today inaugurated a high capacity bio-gas plant at Nangli dairy in South West Delhi, and also hit out at former CM Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly delaying this important project for which the centre had already sanctioned funds long back during AAP’s rule. Gupta today inaugurated Delhi’s first 200-tonne-per-day (TPD) capacity gas plant, which she said will prove to be a sustainable solution for managing cow dung and dairy waste, and also address other challenges faced by the cow shelters and dairies.

CM has said that the plant will also help in keeping drains clean, ultimately reducing Yamuna’s pollution by processing the cow dung that was earlier released as waste in the drains. Speaking on the occasion, she accused the previous dispensation of delaying projects, while the former CM used to blame Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly hindering works of the previous government.

Gupta also accused the previous government’s leaders of indulging in politics over various issues, while important work got delayed. She also questioned why AAP did not complete this project timely when the centre had provided the funds for the same. Gupta said that it is when the triple engine government under PM’s leadership came to power and all the representatives worked together, the project was finally completed, and is now operational.

CM said that green energy will be generated in the plant by using cow dung, which is going to contribute to a cleaner environment. The bio gas plant has been inaugurated as part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada celebrations commemorating the birthday of PM Modi. CM also stressed that the initiative is a step towards making Delhi a clean, self-reliant, and green capital, aligning with the PM’s vision for promoting green energy. MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, MCD Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, and others were present on the occasion.
