Indian Railways gears up for nationwide cleanliness drive

Bhopal: The Ministry of Railways is fully prepared for the successful launch of Special Campaign 5.0, a government initiative focused on institutionalizing cleanliness and resolving pending matters. The campaign, which began its preparatory phase on September 15, is set to intensify from October 2 to October 31, 2025.
Under the leadership of Railway Board Chairman and CEO, Satish Kumar, the ministry has issued detailed guidelines to all 17 Zonal Railways, 70 divisions, and other units. Over 150 nodal officers have been appointed across the network, including 10 public sector undertakings, 9 production units, and 9 central training institutes, to ensure coordinated implementation. A dedicated WhatsApp group has also been created for real-time communication and updates.
The campaign’s objectives are comprehensive, including the swift disposal of pending references, a thorough review of files, a major cleanliness drive, and effective e-waste and scrap management. This systematic approach aims to make cleanliness a daily practice and ensure timely resolution of all outstanding issues.
With a unified plan and dedicated participation from all units, the Ministry of Railways is committed to making Special Campaign 5.0 a resounding success, demonstrating a strong commitment to efficiency and hygiene across the nation’s rail network.
