New Delhi, Sept 11 (UNI) Home Minister Amit Shah will today inaugurate the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) at Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Calicut, and Amritsar airports via video conferencing.
FTI-TTP is a major move to modernize and streamline immigration processes, rolled out by the government for Indian citizens and foreign nationals holding the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card.
The initiative is spearheaded by the Bureau of Immigration under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The FTI-TTP is designed to offer a seamless, technology-driven immigration experience, significantly reducing waiting times and enhancing convenience for frequent travelers. The programme utilizes automated e-gates at airports to facilitate swift immigration clearance through biometric authentication.
Launched in June 2024 at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), New Delhi, the programme is currently operational at eight major international airports — Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Ahmedabad.
The facility is now being extended to Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Calicut, and Amritsar airports.
Eligible applicants must register online via the dedicated portal https://ftittp.mha.gov.in, where they can submit personal details and upload required documents.
Biometric data, including fingerprints and a facial photograph, are to be captured either at a Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or at the time of passage through the airport.
At the e-gate, travelers simply scan their boarding pass and passport, following which their biometric data is authenticated. Upon successful verification, the gate opens automatically, and immigration clearance is instantly granted, eliminating the need for manual processing.
The FTI-TTP represents a major advancement in smart border management and is set to benefit millions of travelers by providing a quicker, more streamlined, and seamless immigration experience at India’s busiest airports.
