Ukraine relies on India’s ‘authoritative voice’ in supporting cessation of hostilities

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) Ukraine has conveyed to India it relies on India’s ‘’authoritative voice’’ and active role in supporting the full cessation of hostilities and broader international peace efforts.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha told External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar about strengthening the Ukraine-India partnership and further implementation of agreements reached between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“I spoke with India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar about strengthening the Ukraine-India partnership and the further implementation of agreements reached by our leaders, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi,’’ the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.

He said he had informed Dr Jaishankar about the current battlefield situation and Ukraine’s efforts to achieve a just peace.

‘’We rely on India’s authoritative voice and active role in supporting the full cessation of hostilities and broader international peace efforts,’’ he told dr Jaishankar in the telephone conversation yesterday.

Mr Andrii Sybiha said he and the External Affairs Minister had agreed to meet during the UNGA high-level week in New York and continue the tangible development of bilateral India-Ukraine relations, including in political dialogue, upcoming high-level contacts, economic cooperation, technology and other areas.
