Bhopal: The city is set to celebrate the sacred occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi with great splendor today. All India Muslim Festival Committee Chairman Ahmed Khurram and procession organizer A. Nafees, along with other community leaders, announced the festivities in a joint press conference.
The main traditional procession will depart from Mangalwara Square at 2:00 PM after Friday prayers today, led by MLA Arif Masood. The procession will move through key city areas, including Bharat Talkies, Itwara Square, and Budhwara, culminating with a communal prayer for peace at Charbatti Square.
Another procession, organized by the Ashikan-e-Rasool Ahle Sunnat Committee and the All India Muslim Festival Committee, will begin from Ashoka Garden and conclude at Jinsi Police Chowki.
Leaders from various political and social groups, including Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Jitu Patwari and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, are expected to join the Mangalwara procession. Mosques, shrines, and homes across the city are being illuminated, and community feasts will be held as part of the celebrations. This year, the organizers will also honor prominent social and religious figures from different faiths, promoting a message of interfaith harmony.
