Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jeetu Patwari has renominated the president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Safai Mazdur Cell for a second term. Following his reinstatement, the newly reappointed president immediately dissolved the existing working committee, announcing that a fresh committee will soon be constituted to strengthen organisational functioning.
Speaking to this correspondent, Chouhan, who has taken charge for the second time, outlined his commitment to an 11-point mission aimed at improving the lives of sanitation workers and labourers across the state. He emphasised that the ongoing “contract culture” should be abolished, calling it exploitative and detrimental to the dignity of workers.
Chouhan further said he would press the ruling BJP government to recruit more sanitation workers and labourers, stressing the urgent need to address the shortage of manpower in municipal and allied services. He also pledged to fight for the regularisation of contractual labourers, ensuring they are granted the same job security and benefits as permanent government employees.
Highlighting financial welfare as a key concern, Chouhan added that sanitation workers and labourers should receive additional allowances and benefits similar to those enjoyed by other categories of government employees. He reiterated that the Cell will act as a strong voice for workers’ rights.
