Bhopal: The Secretariat Service Officers and Employees Association has announced the organisation of a unique Note-Writing Competition, aimed at promoting efficiency and precision in official file work. The association, known for combining struggle for rights with encouragement of duties, has a history of innovative movements. It notably organised the first-ever protest in which employees worked extra hours until 8 pm, submitting detailed records of the additional work to the government.
Continuing this tradition, the upcoming competition will highlight the crucial role of drafting precise notes on files. According to the association, the effectiveness of any officer or employee is best reflected in the clarity, brevity, and rule-based quality of their written notes. To ensure fair assessment, participants will be divided into four groups based on their appointment years: 1985–1995, 1996–2005, 2006–2015, and 2016–2025.
Each participant will be given a hypothetical case on which they must prepare a note. Senior officials at the level of Deputy Secretary and above will prepare the case and also serve as jury members to evaluate the entries. The best notes will be formally awarded at a special ceremony. Applications can be submitted until 15 September.
