Kochi, Sep 2 (UNI) The Kerala High Court will remain closed for the Onam holidays from August 29 to September 7, but vacation benches will function during this period to hear urgent matters.
As per an official notification, the vacation benches will sit on September 1 and 3. The Chief Justice has nominated eight judges as vacation judges under Section 8 of the Kerala High Court Act, 1958.
The registry will take up only urgent cases, which must be accompanied by a memorandum or application specifying the reasons for immediate consideration.
The notification also clarified that, unless otherwise ordered by the vacation judge or bench, petitions filed will not automatically be listed for hearing on the day of filing.
