House fire in Philippine capital kills 2, critically injures girl

Manila, Sep 2 (UNI) A three-year-old girl and her nanny were killed, while a six-year-old girl was critically injured in a house fire in the Philippine capital Manila, the Bureau of Fire Protection said Tuesday.

The bureau said the fire broke out at around 11:55 p.m. Monday in Malabon City, part of Metro Manila, trapping the victims on the second floor of their rented house.

The six-year-old, who sustained severe burns on her arms, hands, and legs, is being treated at a local hospital, the bureau said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze in less than an hour. An investigation is underway to determine its cause.
