New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) The Supreme Court today recorded the appointment of Advocate Arun Kumar as a Judge of the Allahabad High Court, following the union Government’s notification clearing his elevation.

The Ministry of Law and Justice issued the notification stating, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Arun Kumar, to be a Judge of the Allahabad High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”

Kumar’s appointment comes nearly two years after the Allahabad High Court Collegium first recommended his name in September 2022.

The Chief Minister and Governor of Uttar Pradesh also concurred with the recommendation.

With the Centre’s clearance, Kumar will now assume office as Judge of the Allahabad High Court.
