Water level of Yamuna river rises, alert sounded

New Delhi, Sept 1 (UNI) The water level of Yamuna at Old Railway Bridge (ORB) was recorded at 204.88 metres by 11 am today.

The continuously rising water level is a danger signal for the low-lying areas. The administration is keeping an eye on the situation and has appealed to the people to remain alert.

The water being released from Haryana’s Hathni Kund Barrage has increased to 319,367 cusecs. 38,900 cusec of water is being released from Wazirabad Barrage.

At the same time, the discharge from Okhla Barrage has increased to 56,455 cusec.
