- Vehicle owners can update the vehicle registration database by visiting Sarathi portal
Bhopal: The Transport Department is currently running a special campaign to encourage vehicle owners and dealers to update their mobile numbers. This can be easily done through the Vehicle Sarathi portal of the National Information Center (NIC). It is mandatory for applicants to register their mobile numbers when obtaining vehicle registration and driving licenses in the state. Often, dealers mistakenly register their own numbers instead of those of the vehicle owners.
Over time, if vehicle owners change their mobile numbers without updating the database, they may face issues accessing important services. The Transport Department has introduced an online facility to update mobile numbers via Aadhaar authentication on the Vehicle Sarathi portal. If the names of the applicant and their guardian match exactly with those in the vehicle registration and driving license database, the mobile number is updated immediately. In cases where there is a discrepancy, applicants must upload additional identification, such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, or passport.
