Heavy rain likely in Telangana over next 72 hours: Met

Hyderabad, Aug 31 (UNI) Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Suryapet districts of Telangana during the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Centre said on Sunday.

In its daily weather report, the Met office said heavy rain is also likely in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts on Monday.

On Tuesday, similar conditions are expected in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Kamareddy districts.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places across Telangana during the next seven days. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph are likely at isolated places in all districts over the next five days.

The report noted that the southwest monsoon has been weak over the state. Rain occurred at a few places during the last 24 hours, it added.
