Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 30 (UNI) In a major step towards the digitalisation of animal healthcare, the Kerala government will launch ‘E-Samruddha’, a comprehensive online service platform for veterinary hospitals across the State.
The project, developed in collaboration with the Digital University of Kerala under the Rebuild Kerala Initiative at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore, will be formally inaugurated by Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister J. Chinchurani at Adoor today.
The platform integrates multiple digital systems, including an Animal Health Information Management System, outpatient management for veterinary hospitals, laboratory management, and breeding management.
It also features a dedicated mobile application to facilitate easy access for farmers and officials.
A digital interface has been incorporated into the revamped Special Calf Rearing Scheme, enabling end-to-end management of livestock health and development.
Initially piloted in Pathanamthitta district, E-Samruddha has now been extended statewide. At the time of launch, services are operational in 130 veterinary institutions, including multi-specialty facilities.
Once fully functional, the mobile app will allow farmers to pre-book treatments, obtain health certificates, and access a wide range of livestock care services online.
Officials said the initiative is expected to improve transparency, enhance service delivery, and significantly upgrade the quality and efficiency of veterinary healthcare in Kerala, benefiting both the rural farming community and veterinary professionals.
