Congress District Presidents to upload daily work on Party App

Training scheduled in Delhi

Bhopal: The Congress party has directed its newly elected district presidents to upload their day-to-day activities on a dedicated digital application, General Secretary (Organisation) Sanjay Kamle told this correspondent on Wednesday.

He informed that a training programme for district presidents has been scheduled in New Delhi on 24 August, where senior Congress leaders will provide guidance and share strategies. In addition, regular Zoom meetings will be held to ensure ongoing interaction, during which senior leaders will offer further advice and feedback.

According to Kamle, the first evaluation of the district presidents’ performance will be conducted after three months, followed by a second assessment after six months. Decisions on whether individual presidents will continue in their roles will be taken thereafter. “The party wants accountability and visible results. That is why each district president is expected to maintain a record of their work, be active on social media, and remain aware of developments in their respective regions,” he said.

Kamle emphasised that the Congress high command has taken serious note of expressions of resentment on social media regarding the nomination of district presidents. Some Congress workers, he stated, had openly voiced their dissatisfaction online. While a few have since deleted their posts, others have not yet withdrawn their remarks, and the party leadership is considering disciplinary action where necessary.

He specifically mentioned former corporator Monu Saxena, who had expressed his discontent over the recently announced list of district presidents. Saxena has reportedly been advised to follow the proper organisational channel and formally convey his concerns in writing to the party high command, rather than airing grievances on social media platforms.

Highlighting the importance of discipline and communication, Kamle reiterated that the digital monitoring system will help the party maintain transparency and consistency in its organisational work. “This is a crucial step towards modernising our structure and ensuring accountability at every level. Those entrusted with responsibility must prove their capability and commitment,” he added.

The move is being seen as part of the Congress party’s broader organisational reforms under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, aimed at energising grassroots leadership ahead of forthcoming electoral challenges.
