- Boosting passenger safety
Bhopal: In a significant boost for railway safety and efficiency, the Carriage Rehabilitation Workshop (CRWS) in Bhopal has reported an impressive performance, successfully completing the Periodic Overhauling (POH) of 404 passenger coaches in the first four months of the current fiscal year. The output is a clear indicator of the workshop’s heightened productivity, with 111 coaches alone being refurbished in July.
The comprehensive POH process is critical for ensuring passenger safety and a smooth travel experience. During the overhaul, expert technicians perform a meticulous series of tasks, including:
* Under-gear and body repair: Ensuring the structural integrity of the coach for safe operation.
* Trolley and bogie maintenance: Servicing all parts beneath the coach, which are vital for a secure journey.
* Brake system and buffer repair: Enhancing safety and providing a jerk-free riding experience for passengers.
* Wheel and axle maintenance: Critical for preventing derailments and ensuring a reliable service.
The Bhopal workshop’s management is committed to delivering high-quality maintenance within strict deadlines. This efficiency is directly contributing to improved operational performance and reliability for the West Central Railway, setting a new standard for railway safety across the region.
