New Delhi, Aug 16 (UNI) Remembering former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee on his 7th death anniversary, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said that his vision for nation building, efforts for the welfare of the poor and perspective on good governance continue to guide everyone.
The Delhi CM on Saturday morning visited Vajpayee’s memorial ‘Sadaiv Atal’ and paid a heartfelt tribute to the former PM.
Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma also paid tributes at the stalwart leader’s memorial and has said that, “Atal ji’s contribution to the nation, his unique personality, and visionary leadership will always remain a source of inspiration for all of us.”
Sharing her thoughts on the occasion while speaking to reporters, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj expressed that Vajpayee was not just a leader, he was a guide, a source of inspiration for everyone, and a visionary.
She also said that while paying obeisance to Vajpayee ji, all present on the occasion resolved to take the country ahead on the path of development and fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making the country a ‘Vishwaguru’ following the teachings of Atal ji.
Similarly, several other Delhi leaders also paid tributes to the former PM, while dignitaries including President, PM and other Union Ministers had also paid obeisance to Vajpayee.
Vajpayee had served as the PM on three occasions, with his initial term for 13 days in 1996, and the second term for eleven months from 1998 to 1999 and third full term during 1999 to 2004.
In 2015, Vajpayee was awarded India’s highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna.
The stalwart from BJP, considered one of the eminent leaders of the party breathed his last on August 16, 2018.
Party leaders say that he has left behind a rich legacy which is going to be remembered for years to come.
Not only for his bold reforms, but Vajpayee will be remembered for the innumerable important contributions that paved the way for swift development.
