AAP criticises BJP Govt over Delhi waterlogging and rain-related deaths

New Delhi, Aug 15 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday accused the Rekha Gupta government of failing to address severe waterlogging and rain-related incidents in the capital, saying more then two dozen persons lost lives in rainy seasons.

AAP Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the BJP government was only shifting blame instead of taking responsibility.

Bharadwaj questioned whether former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal could be held accountable for recent tragedies, including a biker’s death from a fallen tree, fee hikes in private schools, and frequent power cuts. “Just as the BJP’s central government blames Nehru for everything, its Delhi government is now blaming Kejriwal,” he said.

The AAP also expressed grief over the deaths of two children in Vasant Vihar after a DDA wall collapsed, calling it a result of the BJP government’s negligence. Meanwhile, Tilak Nagar MLA Jarnail Singh shared a video of himself navigating waterlogged streets in a boat, sarcastically suggesting that Delhi residents could now enjoy “free rafting” due to the administration’s failure to prevent flooding.

The BJP has yet to respond to these allegations.
