New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) President Droupadi Murmu today inaugurated the Summer Annuals Edition of Amrit Udyan in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
This vibrant edition of Amrit Udyan will be open to the public from August 16 to September 14.
Visitors can explore the blooming gardens daily between 10 AM and 6 PM, with the last entry permitted at 5:15 PM. The Udyan will remain closed on all Mondays for maintenance, an official statement said.
This year a key highlight is the introduction of ‘Babbling Brook’, a naturalistic water feature that replaces the earlier musical fountain. Designed to enhance the sensory appeal of the gardens, this new addition includes meandering water streams with cascades, sculptural spouts, stepping stones and a raised reflecting pool.
Visitors can explore various landscape zones such as Banyan Grove, featuring reflexology paths, Panchatatva trails, and forest-inspired soundscapes; Herbal and Plumeria Garden, with grass mounds and curated plantations for an immersive sensory experience.
The garden trail will also include Bal Vatika, Herbal Garden, Bonsai Garden, Central Lawn, Long Garden and Circular Garden.
The Amrit Udyan will open from 10 AM to 6 PM (last entry at 5:15 PM) and will remain closed on all Mondays for maintenance.
Special access will be granted to athletes and sports persons on August 29 (National Sports Day) and teachers on September 5 (Teachers’ Day).
Entry is free, but prior registration is mandatory. Visitors can book their slots online through the official Rashtrapati Bhavan website: https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in. For walk-in guests, Self-Service Kiosks will be available outside Gate No 35, which is located near North Avenue Road.
