DRM Bhopal conducts major inspection of key corridor

Bhopal: In a comprehensive effort to enhance safety and passenger experience, Bhopal Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Pankaj Tyagi, on Tuesday conducted an extensive inspection of the Rani Kamalapati-Bina rail section. The visit, which covered major stations and operational facilities, aimed to directly assess safety standards, infrastructure, and amenities.

Beginning his journey from Rani Kamalapati station, DRM Tyagi traveled by a special inspection train, meticulously examining railway tracks, level crossings, signaling systems, and maintenance procedures. At Sanchi, he reviewed the progress of redevelopment work under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, urging officials to complete the projects with a focus on quality and timeliness.

The inspection continued with thorough reviews of stations in Vidisha, Ganjbasoda, Mandibamora, and Bina. At each stop, Tyagi assessed platforms, ticketing counters, waiting rooms, and sanitation. He emphasized the need for improving facilities to provide a better experience for passengers.

The DRM’s tour also included visits to the Bina MEMU Shed, where he reviewed locomotive maintenance, and the Running Room, where he listened to the concerns of loco pilots and guards. He concluded the inspection at the Bina railway hospital, directing staff to ensure timely and quality healthcare services for railway employees and their families.

Concluding his visit, DRM Tyagi instructed all departmental heads to maintain heightened vigilance and readiness in anticipation of the upcoming festive season and increased passenger traffic.

Railways adds extra coaches to meet demand

To accommodate a surge in passenger traffic, railway authorities have decided to temporarily attach two additional AC coaches to the 12155 Rani Kamalapati–Nizamuddin Express (Bhopal Express). This measure effective August 13, 2025, aims to provide more confirmed berths and a smoother travel experience for passengers.
