A domestic dispute in Karanpura village, Berasia, took a tragic turn on Sunday when a man fatally attacked his wife with an axe, according to police reports. The incident occurred around 2:15 AM late on Sunday night, as a quarrel escalated between Balram Meena and his wife, Sarita Meena. Their daughter, Chhaya Meena, alerted a family acquaintance, Vishram Singh Gurjar, who rushed to the scene and discovered Sarita lying in a pool of blood. She was transported to the government hospital in Berasia, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Berasia police, led by station house officer Virendra Sen, registered a case and initiated a manhunt for Balram, who fled the scene. Within hours, police located him hiding in bushes near his farm, where they also recovered a blood-stained iron axe, believed to be the murder weapon. Balram has been taken into custody and is being interrogated.
